Wildlife Biology & Pre-Vet Double Major

Montana State University

Pre-Vet & Wildlife Student. Ready for the Next Adventure!

Curious & Detailed Researcher

I hope to continually learn and gain experience related to wildlife biology and veterinarian skills and services. As I gain experience, my long-term goal is to work within an organization that researches and manages wildlife animals to improve the livelihood of the population as our earth continues to evolve.

Empowered to Learn and Question.

During my first year of studies at the University of Montana, I have had the opportunity to explore the Wildlife Biology program and begin the Pre-Vet class sequence. I hope to connect with professors on ongoing wildlife research and help assist in further research to better their findings while learning from the best in the field.

International Angler & Outdoorsman

“The fact is that no species has ever had such wholesale control over everything on Earth, living or dead, as we now have. That lays upon us, whether we like it or not, an awesome responsibility. In our hands now lies not only our own future, but that of all other living creatures with whom we share the Earth.” ~ David Attenborough

Experience

International Angling & fisheries Research

An exploration of angling and fisheries research through digital archives, primary sources, and the MSU Library’s Archives and Special Collections. I participated in this class to develop research skills through the archives as well as hands-on cultural, environmental conservation, and fishing experiences, learning from experts and in the field practices. This included local experts as well as travel to Belize where I had the opportunity to practice sustainable angling, observe wildlife, and work with a local non-profit.

In attending Turtle Camp, I volunteered along other teens to service the organization aimed at safeguarding sea turtle populations and their nesting sites. During my time, I was able to help clean and manage the food for a 500 lb. Loggerhead turtle, monitored and protected nesting locations, and beach clean-ups.

Outward Bound Leadership Camp

Outward Bound offers an immersive outdoor experience designed to cultivate leadership skills, foster teamwork, and promote personal growth among participants. During the program, I embarked on a challenging 12-day canoeing expedition covering 80 miles of scenic waterways in the wilderness of Minnesota. This unique adventure provides opportunities for me to develop leadership qualities through experiential learning, teamwork, and outdoor exploration.

The Edge

I believe that we are a part of the most important generation of humans that inevitably impact and are responsible for the trajectory of the earth, its environment, and all living creatures. I hope to play a part in wildlife research so we have a greater understanding and empathy towards animals and recognize our ability to impact the livelihood of all animals and their environment for centeries to come.
